I am on hospital duty this weekend and won't make it to the market. Instead I present some favorite recent moments including poppies, clouds, and cardinals.
I hope in your life (sometime) you will be lucky enough to be gifted a jar of strawberry butter. It's other-worldly in it's deliciousness. Not too sweet, with that hint of cloves and ginger, perfect on a well toasted bagel. It's not an apple butter substitute, nor is it a replacement for jam, it is something that can not be compared to anything else. It just IS simply spectacular. Thanks Meredith!
While we are on the topic of butter... how about this buttery yellow? Deep inside these white/pink peonies.
The fountain got turned on last week. Always a good moment. This particular pump is on it's 3rd year... maybe? I better order another one while I am thinking about it. I am so sad that our water garden store in Lawrence closed it's doors this year. It was so great to just walk in there and talk to someone about what you needed... and they could HELP you.
While I am on the front porch, what is it about taking a cutting and trying to root it and start another plant from one you already have?
Angie used to do this all the time. Sister takes cuttings too and so does Dottie. I'm sure it's not just a Moss thing. When it comes to plants, the urge to propagate is strong. Apparently.
The strawberry butter looks delicious. I may have to see if I can fine a recipe. I recently found a wall of cuttings that was displayed in a brilliant manner. Here's a link in case you'd like to check it out.
