Early Saturday morning, sister and I headed north towards the wonderful beaches around Santa Barbara. Why not get in a beach walk if you can? Especially if you can hit it at low tide, see some anemones, and maybe (if you are lucky) find a few turbans whose owners have moved out and left the place unoccupied.
There's a house on the beach with a nice collection of turbans, laid out in neat rows, bleaching out in the sun.
I am not looking to rival this collection, but would like a nice grouping of say 5 or 8? Right now I have 4. Which is pretty good. The important thing is you have to find them yourself. That makes them extra special. AND you can NOT under any circumstances displace an occupant.
The thing about the beach is the feel of the wind, the smell of the ocean, the sounds of the birds and the surf, the way your eyes search the shore, it is an experience to wrap yourself in. And so we did. I captured a bit of it for you below.
We headed back to the city after our walk and found a wonderful little spot for breakfast where I had the most beautiful and delicious avocado toast with an iced coffee on the side - with oat milk? All I can say is don't knock it till you've tried it.
If you live in the vicinity of South Pasadena, get yourself to Cos & Pi and check it out.
Filled with admiration for your steady hand filming Batesβ¦ππππ
