On my last day in LA sister took me to the gardens at the Huntington for a stroll through paradise.
From the subtropical, through the cactus/succulents, to the open areas with wonderful trees, an opportunity to appreciate the natural world at it's finest.
Huge specimens with amazing curves and twists.
I think this is the tree that grew from a seed that came from Mexico or maybe South America in the very early 1900's.
The Chinese garden has been recently reopened after an expansive renovation. Such a peaceful place.
Mosaic tiles made with pebbles to walk on and waterfalls to walk under.
The roses are lush, full, and fragrant. In my mind I walked through with a bucket of cool water and cut a nice selection, brought them into my kitchen and arranged them in a vase for the table.
At the end we sat in the cool marble chair and enjoyed the statues in Shakespeare's garden.
This is one of my very favorite places in all the world. It inspires and delights me every single time I come and fills me with even greater appreciation for every living thing.
Wow! Thanks for sharing all these wonderful photos!
