If you are ever around Albuquerque and feel like a hike that involves the sound of water, a meadow, wild flowers, butterflies, a cow or two, lots of trees, and the perfect combination of sun and shade, go to the east fork of the Jemez river - Conchas trailhead. The photo below is the canyon that will reward you at the conclusion of your hike. As long as you don't mind wet feet, you can cross the stream and park your butt on a rock and look for as long as you like.
Gosh it was pretty.
As we neared the end of the walk, the clouds turned dark and the thunder started to boom. There were cool breezes that felt delicious on our skin.
In case you don't make it, here is a 30 second clip of our sit.
By the way, as soon as we got our shoes off, got into the car, and turned onto the highway, big fat drops hit the windshield. The Moss sisters are nothing if not crazy lucky. Which we know, and are immensely grateful for.
I watched your video full screen and it was delightful in sight and sound, a mini-vacation. Thanks Carol.
