Scenes from the farmers market this week. How lovely are the red stems in this vase?
Another jumpsuit/coverall! This week from the Repetition Coffee booth.
A cup of that coffee with a nice piece of orange/honey/date cake from the Chonky Treats and Eats guys sounds like a perfect love match to me. He was about to start cutting on the second cake of the morning when I got this photo.
The woman I got the dryer balls from last week had so many beautiful hats and mitts this week, all made from the wool she spins from the sheep she raises. She is a treasure.
I was a little nervous about asking this guy if I could take his picture, but I had to because he was enjoying his farmers market breakfast so much. As soon as I asked he broke into this giant smile. The morale of this story is always ask.
My purchases this week were heavily green. I had such good arugula last week I had to get another bag. I generally don't eat arugula alone as my salad green, but since my friend Annette turned me on to the idea when we were in Salina, I have been enjoying the flavor immensely. A tender bag of mellow mix blend for weeknight salads is so easy. The fate of the butternut squash is as of yet undecided. Soup maybe?
How did it get to be Sunday evening already? Chris is out back cooking some barbecue chicken on the grill and I am about to go get my pajamas on. All the best dinners are eaten in pajamas. In my opinion.
I found the best recipe for Butternut squash chips. Cut it in half and scoop out the seeds. Then slice it crossways into 1/4" slices (peel and all!). Drizzle on a little olive oil, bake it in the oven, and then sprinkle on a little salt. Tasty and very pretty with those fluted edges.

I still use your Butternut squash soup recipe - sooo good! With squash re-appearing in the stores, that's definitely on my list of "to make"!

Wonderful, as always.

That jumpsuit is cute but I remember back in the day when they were popular and God help you if you had to go into a public restroom to use the bathroom-it was a pain to keep it from touching the floor and the feeling of vulnerability sitting there partially undressed.
