A few of the Thanksgiving preparations taking place around here include the following.
Final menu decisions being made.
Garlands hung.
Shakers washed and filled with fresh salt and pepper.
Holiday doo-dads dug out of the basement.
I found a penny in the parking lot of the grocery store and picked it up the other day. Angie always picked up the stray coin. "Find a penny, pick it up, all the day you'll have good luck". I am carrying it around in my pocket with the hopes that we will have a new water heater installed before Thanksgiving. Not generally one to believe in superstitious practices, I see no reason not to cover all my bases. In the meantime, Chris and I have perfected the art of heating water on the stove for bathing, hair washing, and doing the dishes. Mustering through adversity builds character.
