Today was spent trying to figure out how I could replicate the little squeeze pouches that the one and only, amazingly talented, Arounna Khounnoraj made a few weeks ago. She is one of the most inspiring makers out there in the world. Somehow I got the idea that I could figure it out if I put my mind to it. So I channelled all my maker friends, got out an old pillow case, watched a you tube video on flat bottom bags, and went for it.
A lining seemed essential.
Even though it meant trying to sew multiple layers together and turn it inside out. Fingers were stabbed by pins.
The squeeze clasp hardware, that I thought would be complicated, turned out to be the easiest part of the whole thing.
and... it works!
Now that I have the mechanics down, the fun part can begin. Making embellishments and choosing fabrics and making another one.
Fingers are crossed.
P.S. If you aren't familiar with Arounna Khounnoraj, click on the link above to her instagram account. I think I created about a million new neural pathways in my brain today working on this. Who doesn't need that?
I love it! Thank you for the reminder that I have a couple of those squeezy closure things in my stash (somewhere!) What a great project and yes, we could all use a little workout for the brain from time to time too!
