Every year when February approaches I am filled with a strong desire to make all things even somewhat Valentines related. Banners of hearts, hand stitched hearts, a hooked heart, why not a table runner of all shades of pink and red? See what I mean? It's silly. Ridiculous even.
But my heart is a foolish one and I follow it where it goes. Isn't it great that we can go so many places and make so many things using our imaginations?
I am settling for getting out hearts previously made, garlands from years past, and hearts from friends.
In photo #1 above, I renamed my Christmas socks (begun last year... or was it the year before) Valentine's socks because clearly they are all the colors of a heart centric holiday. Since that photo I have about reached the heel on sock #2. Which means I have 11 days to finish so I can wear them to a coffee shop on the 14th.
Pam Garrison made that watercolor flower heart below a few years back. It's a treasure, as are those pink hearts covered in old bits of lace and crochet that Mary Stanley made.
Has the Valentine's bug bit you? If so what are you creating? Do tell.
P.S. I have rubbed off on Chris. He bought a fresh bottle of red sanding sugar at the store to make sugar cookies. I did not one single thing to discourage that idea.
Beautiful Carol. I always love your holiday decorating. That collage in the frame is breathtaking. I'm still unpacking from my move to Idaho & haven't even started in my art room yet.
