gazing into the middle distance

The red sunset maple is beginning the annual Spring transformation. 

Out in the "wild" there are not too many changes yet, still there are pops of green here and there. Before the eyes experience Spring though, there are the very subtle smells of Spring. Then ones that make you want to gulp in lungs full of this moist air. 

This week begins my transformation from a full-time worker to a part-time worker. I am filled with glee at the thought of more mornings to walk outside. More time to just be. 

I have many thoughts about what I will "do" with my time. I tell my mind to hush. Not to try and fill my days, but rather let them unfold. It's hard not to look ahead at the calendar and plan stuff. 





That was what full-time Carol did. Part-time Carol is going to try and spend more time sitting on benches. Gazing into the middle distance. Looking for whatever I might see.
