On this recent, early morning hike, the Baker wetlands were cocooned in a light mist, making it the perfect place for a walk that showed off the artistry of all the overnight, spinning spiders. It was so quiet, except for a few honking geese, and the occasional call of western meadowlark.
On mornings like this I am knocked over the head with my extreme good fortune at being right here, right now.
As the sun rose, the sunflowers were a spectacular side show to the main attraction that were the webs.

Other sites included the white flash of a deer's tail as he sprung out in front of me and crossed the path and snails carrying their shells to who knows where.
